Fourth Chute Falls

Updated: Dec 10, 2021

Rocks, caves, waterfalls oh my! Lots of people know about the Bonnechere Caves located just outside of Eganville, Ontario but not many know about the expansive waterfalls located at the exact same spot! As you can imagine the first person who was traversing down the Bonnechere River by canoe was in for a lot of waterfalls and rapids.. then they discovered the Bonnechere caves! A natural wonder which now a-days is drained out during the summer months and visitors can take guided tours through the stalagmite filled caverns. Across from the Bonnechere Cave entrance is the Fourth Chute waterfall, simply cross the road bridge and veer to the left. There are a few foot trails and my advice is to take any of them you feel drawn to! You can see the remains of an old logging dam which you can stand on and from there you have an excellent vantage point of the natural caves entrance! If you keep wandering you will find these giant rock slabs, the perfect spot to take the Instagram photo and view the falls!

There are also lots of beautiful rock formations in the area, a natural rock arch, plenty of little caverns and adventures to be had here!
