Westmeath Provincial Park

Updated: Dec 10, 2021

Seriously how did I live in the area for so long and not know all these places exist?

Westmeath Provincial Park is stunning! Surrounding yourself with tall trees, following a magical creek bed and leading you to an expansive sandy beach that you have almost COMPLETELY to yourself.. seriously stunning!

Locals will tell you that this is the place to be if you want to catch a sunset but more specifically a sunrise - hubby and I checked this place out on our way home from errands in Renfrew one day and completed the 8km trail in 1.5 hours - this trail is nice and flat and a perfect spot to go with kiddos to test their trail legs on longer hikes! Pack a picnic and some sand toys in your backpack and check this place out!

Although an Ontario Park this park is non-operational so be sure to pack out all garbage, camping is not permitted here. There is a clearing with plenty of parking ability.
